Make Your Own Candle

Making decorative candles is a fun and interesting to do. It is because decorative candle making combines art and creativity, so that initiates our brains to think how to bring out our artistic sense.
Actually, in making of decorative candles is only principled on how we can cast a liquid wax into a solid form.Therefore, I will give some tips on how to make a good candle. Before making it, lets prepare those compositions, tools and others. Compositions of decorative candle making are: Elastic paraffin, White oil, Candle dyes, Perfume as much as needed, Decorative stuffs as like as your taste.
Many needed equipment used to candle making are very simple too, such as: A container, Mold, Paintbrush and Stoves.
How that procedure is done? There are four simple step to make a candle.
- Elastic + White paraffin oil in the container is heated to melt and then mixing them together. This dough can be called as "A".
- "A" + candle dyes as much as needed. We can call this dough as "B".
- Pour "B" into casting molds that inside of them has been previously laid a wick.
- Give any ornaments as like as you want.
- Candle dough can be poured into permanent container and then garnish it with any decoration stuffs, such as: small snails, rocks etc and so those candles look translucent.
- It's better to use molds made of silicone mold or stainless.
- When molding candles in a plastic casting mold, sometimes, they can be hard to be removed. To overcome this matter, the trick is putting candles which have been molded into refrigerator. Actually, they will be easily removed from the casting mold.
- To produce a good wick and not produce a lot of smoke, the previous steps that must be done before putting that wick to the casting mold is soaking it in the brine for three hours. After dried, it can be used as a wick candle with the best results. (more)
